In just six months’ time, in December 2023, there will be a Club World Cup that will leave no fan behind. The Saudi Football Federation as well as the International Football Federation have confirmed that all matches for the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia will be held in the city of Jeddah. This information was officially announced on FIFA’s official website. The decision follows a visit to Jeddah by a FIFA delegation to assess ongoing preparations for the tournament, which will be held from 12 to 22 December 2023. This is a definite tournament. There will be 7 participating teams from 6 confederations taking part in the competition from 12 to 22 December 2023. Saudi Arabian Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal said: “It is a great honour for us. We are very happy to be able to welcome the world’s leading football clubs and their fans to Saudi Arabia.” 

Participating teams

7 teams from 6 confederations will participate in the competition

As noted, 7 teams from 6 confederations will take part in the competition. At the moment, the list is as follows:

  • Manchester City (UEFA confederation) – England;
  • Urawa Red Diamonds (AFC confederation) – Japan;
  • Leon (CONCACAF confederation) – Mexico;
  • Auckland City (AFC confederation) – New Zealand;
  • Al Ittihad (AFC confederation (hosts)) – Saudi Arabia.

The seventh contestant will be the winner of the Libertadores Cup, who will be determined on 11 November.
